| dc.description.abstract | Efforts to improve social welfare of elderly are directed to elderly can remain empowered.
Efforts include maintenance of cleanliness personal hygiene hair, eyes, ears, teeth, mouth,
skin, nails, and cleanliness in dress. To be able to perform personal hygiene in the elderly
requires a good knowledge can be applied to personal hygiene as possible. Results of
preliminary studies from interviews of six elderly, 4 elderly said she did not clean her mouth,
they felt that their teeth are uncompleted, so they no need to clean. The objective was aim
correlation knowledge level of elderly with behavior elderly of personal hygiene in nursing
home Darma Bakti Pajang of Surakarta. This study was a descriptive correlative, with
crossectional approach. Taking sample was using proportionate random sampling technique
and got 46 elderly. data obtained from questionnaires knowledge, while personal hygiene
with checklist. Data analysis was using Spearman rank correlation test. The results showed
5 respondents (10.9%) with high knowledge, 16 respondents with a 934.8%) with the
knowledge of being, and 25 respondents (54.3%) with low knowledge. personal hygiene
showed 10 respondents (21.7 %) with good personal hygiene, 15 respondents (32.6%) fair,
and 21 respondents (45.7%) poor. The results of hypothesis testing with Rank Spearman test
shows r = 0.360 with p = 0.014, so the conclusion there is correlation knowledge level of
elderly with behavior elderly of personal Hygiene in nursing home Darma Bakti Pajang of
