dc.description.abstractFolklore is at once cultural heritage assets that need to be developed and preserved. The existence of folklore believed to make up the morale of the nation because it contains the values of the previous culture. Function other than as entertainment folklore can also serve as role models, especially folklore that contain moral messages. Boyolali folklore contains the value of religious culture . It was seen in any activities or traditions that take place based on oral folklore that developed in various districts in Boyolali. For example Sadranan tradition , the worms time , the origin of the name Boyolali, Mount Tugel origin, etc. The objectives of this study were: (1) participating improve understanding of cultural values in folklore from the region itself is boyolali, (2) increase confidence participating mothers of children to form moral values positive folklore delivered, (3) establish a conduct follow-up of this service activities such as mentoring and coaching cooperation in Indonesian in terms of cultural preservation area. The benefits to be gained from community service activities include: (1) the occurrence of a harmonious relationship between the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta Society 3 RT / RW 9 , Surodadi , Siswodipuran, Boyolali, (2) increasing public understanding of the preservation of culture in the region, (3) the lecturers Studies Program, and the Regional Indonesian Literature can develop and contribute their knowledge. The event was held in the form of socialization and training are conducted on Saturday, May 25, 2013. The event took place at one of the community members 3 RT / RW 9 , Surodadi , Siswodipuran , Boyolali. Socialization and training conducted by two lecturers with material on how storytelling and folklore preservation of cultural heritage of the archipelago . Public response to the activities of community service is very positive.in_ID
