dc.description.abstractKanker atau sering disebut tumor ganas merupakan salah satu penyakit kronis yang membutuhkan pengobatan panjang dan rutin disebabkan oleh pertumbuhan sel/jaringan yang tidak terkendali, terus bertumbuh, dan tidak dapat mati. Berbagai dampak dari diagnosa kanker seringkali menyebabkan pasien mengalami permasalahan psikologis. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan sikap optimisme pasien agar dapat menunjang proses kesembuhan dan pemulihannya. Program “Pasien PANDAI” (Pasien dengan Penerimaan dan Aksi) bertujuan agar pasien lebih menerima kondisinya, lebih mendapatkan ketenangan batin, dapat menetapkan tujuan dalam menghadapi penyakitnya, membangun komitmen untuk melakukan perubahan kearah yang lebih baik, dan melaksanakan perubahan perilaku secara nyata. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dan analisis deskriptif. Analisa kuantitatif menggunakan Wilcoxon SignedRank menunjukkan tidak ada perubahan skor pretest-posttest (z=-0.447; p>0.05) dan juga saat posttest-follow up (z=-1.342; p>0,05). Namun, berdasarkan hasil analisa deskirptif yang didapatkan dari hasil monitoring buku harian subjek serta wawancara menunjukkan terdapat kenaikan optimisme pada dua pasien kanker dan satu pasien mengalami penurunan tingkat optimisme. Terjadinya penurunan tingkat optimisme ini disebabkan oleh kondisi fisik pasien yang semakin menurun. Meski demikian, ketiga pasien menyadari akan manfaat program ini, mereka menjadi lebih termotivasi untuk hidup sehat, dapat lebih menerima kondisinya, dan memiliki komitmen untuk rutin menjalani pengobatan.in_ID
