Muhammadiyah attendance at the beginning of the 20th century
is part of the chain of the reform movement in the Islamic world. As a
chain, the ideas of renewal of the stretcher KH Ahmad Dahlan through
Muhammadiyah has a balance point with the idea of reform in the
Middle East, but at the same time the idea was adapted according to
the needs as Indonesian human mind. The style exemplified by
Muhammadiyah is two-legged renewal namely; purification of Islam
and dynamic of content with a life that is constantly changing.

Muhammadiyah is known as responsive movement to respond the
issues of nationality. This paper discusses the response of
Muhammadiyah to the question of nationality in particular problem
of religious diversity and religious beliefs. On the one hand, it appears
to show the attitude of religious purists. moreover it also suggests
practical actions in the social field and in the spirit of national renewal.
This is why the movement which is founded by Ahmad Dahlan in the
history of its role toward nation has always been in the position of
liminality, it is between the dual roles of ethics to uphold the spiritual
and social services in the frame of national harmony.

This study discusses the readiness of Muhammadiyah Islamic
Boarding in Solo Raya in preparing cadre to continue Muhammadiyah
movement. The approach used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The
data collection method is a combination of interview, observation and
documentation. The findings of this study are that Muhammadiyah Ismamic
Boarding in Solo basically been designed to produce a cadre of graduates
who have the ability to move Muhammadiyah branch and regional level.
Each boarding school has an emphasis and the size of their own about the
qualification of cadres prepared. In general, Muhammadiyah boarding school
cadres equip with the following qualifications: strengthening faith, tahfid
of Al-Qur’an, organization skills, relationship with the leaders, foreign
language skills, and qariyah thayiibah.

This study aims to determine the implementation of character education
of discipline and responsibility through moving class Muhammadiyah Senior
High School 2 Surakarta Academic Year 2012/2013. The shape of this research
is descriptive qualitative. The research strategy is a single case study with the
subjects are the principal, teachers and students at Senior High School
Muhammadiyah 2 Surakarta academic year 2012/2013. The data was
collected using systematic observation method, structured interviews and
documentation. To test the validity of the data is by means of triangulation of
data collection techniques and triangulation of data sources. Data analysis
was performed using an interactive model of data analysis. These results
indicate that: (1) The implementation of character education of discipline
and responsibility through moving class in Muhammadiyah Senior High
School 2 Surakarta basically they are often experienced and perceived by
teachers and students, ranging from small to large, for example discipline of
vehicles parking and queuing to pay tuition. Parking the vehicle is held
regularly every day by teachers and students. Students are taught to be
discipline in vehicle parking in order to foster attitudes and behaviors
independently, discipline, tolerance, social care, neatness and beauty, while
queuing to pay tuition aims to foster self-discipline, tolerance, independence,
responsibility and cultivate queued in school. (2) the constraint in implementing
character education of discipline and responsibility through moving class in
Muhammadiyah Senior High School 2 Surakarta is divergency of students
character, moving class is a new program. (3) the solution to overcome the
constraints of implementation character education of discipline and
responsibility through moving class in Muhammadiyah Senior High School
2 Surakarta is to provide guidance, cultivate an attitude of discipline and
responsibility both individually and collectively in each activity, and provide
penalties for students who lack of discipline.
