Tulisan ini mengkaji tentang pemikiran Ibn Khaldūn, berusaha memahami kerangka filosofis pemikiran
ekonominya. Berdasarkan hasil kajian penulis, terdapat dua pendekatan yang mendasari pemikiran
ekonomi Ibn Khaldūn, yaitu: pertama, pendekatan sosiologis, yaitu deskripsi Ibn Khaldūn dalam
mengamati dan menganalisis berbagai aktifitas ekonomi yang sedang berjalan pada suatu masyarakat.
kedua, pendekatan yuridis, ketetapan hukum yang digunakan untuk mengatur aktifitas ekonomi supaya
bisa berjalan dengan baik. Tepatnya tentang peranan yang dimainkan hukum dalam menstabilkan
ekonomi. Disamping dua pendekatan tersebut, terdapat faktor yang mendasari aktifitas ekonomi, yaitu:
pertama, kebebasan, yaitu prinsip membiarkan aktifitas ekonomi berjalan secara alamiah tanpa ada
intervensi langsung dari pemerintah. kedua, keadilan, yaitu prinsip yang diharapkan membawa
kemaslahatan bagi seluruh pihak yang terlibat dalam aktifitas ekonomi. Sebagai realisasi dari prinsip
ini diperankan oleh lembaga hisbah.

How important the science are, so that, Ibn Jam’ah and Ki Hadjar Dewantara made this as a spirit in
his educational knowledge. It can be found in his thought about the concept of knowledge contained
in his book entitled “Tazkirah al-Sami’ wa al-Mutakallim fi adab al-Alim wa al-Muta’allim” and ”
Karya Ki Hadjar Dewantara: Bagian Pertama (Pendidikan)”, even, the educational experts
recognized the conception he thought. Therefore, the focus of this problem was how was the concept
of knowledge in the opinion of Ibn Jama’ah and Ki Hadjar Dewantara? The purpose was to know
the formulation of the concept of knowledge of Ibn Jama’ah and Ki Hadjar Dewantara related to the
concepts of scientist, teacher, student, and school. The research was in the qualitative form, the
library research type, using the historical and philosophical approaches. The technique of análysis
used content analysis, comparative, and descriptive. The data were analyzed to take conclusion from
the existing phenomenon. The result of the research was that the thought of Ibn Jama’ah abouut the
concept of knowledge was very systematical, broad, and in depth in the discussion, starting from the
concepts of scientist, the nature of knowledge, the ethics of teacher, the ethics of student, the ethics
in teaching, the ethics on book, and the ethics for dormitory resident. The concept of knowledge
offered by Ibn Jama’ah in fact was nearly in accordance with the concepts of knowledge offered by
other ulemas, such as Sheikh al-Zarnuji, al-Ghazali, Ahmad Dahlan, M. Hasyim Asy’ari, Ki Hadjar
Dewantara and other ulemas who were experts in the educational knowledges. Nevertheless, the
concept of knowledge of Ibn Jama’ah was more systematical, more simple, and deeper.

This paper discusses religious ethics as the basis for the development of science by Isma'il Raji al-Faruqi. The dichotomy
of science and religion in the West raises serious problems. Development of secularized science and regardless of the
moral values of religion. Religion detached from the role of moral control of the human activities. Value-free science that
is free from elements of particular interest just be the old adage that is difficult to be realized. As proof, the product
development of science, on the one hand benefit, but on the other hand it is used to create a terrible human tragedy. Wars
and invasions supported by sophisticated technology is evidence of the use of technology products separated from the
moral control of religion. To that end, it is important to include the moral values of the religion (Islam) which is absolute
and universal as the basis for the development of science. Activity development of science is a form of human
responsibility in carrying status as a vicegerent on earth. Realization caliphate based on the concept of tawhid, where
every activity is done solely to serve Allah SWT.

A discussion of the Quran Ulumul epistemological perspective is actually a very interesting study.
But it does not become a concern among Muslim intellectuals. They are more interested to comment
on the texts of the Qur'an that are practical. Consequently epistemology Ulumul Quran which is still
dominated by the paradigm has spawned bayani tekstualistik normative interpretation theory tends
to ignore the social reality. Amin Abdullah idea about al-ta'wil al-ilmi as an alternative model in
understanding the verses of the Quran, according to the authors is an interesting offer to be applied
in the context of Ulumul Quran. Al-Ta'wil al-Ilmi basically a model of epistemology whose work
patterns utilizing rotary motion hermenetis among the three shades of epistemology on Islamic
sciences, namely bayani, Irfani and Burhani, which is standard. This effort will make the meaning
and interpretation of the Quran can be responsive to social change, and drove on a mindset that is
more tolerant and pluralist.
