Effect of Road Pavement Damage on Maintenance Cost and Congestion Cost
Yuwono, Bambang E.; Rintawati, Dewi; Supriyono; Sentosa, Setiawan
Pavement road deterioration caused a decline in level of service. The fall in the level of road service
leads to an escalation of the transportation costs. The high cost of transportation due to pavement
road deterioration is caused by an increase in vehicle operating costs and costs resulted from the loss
of time, resulting in increases costs of congestion, pollution ,and accidents which finally provoke
the enhancement of bussiness expenses. Quick and effective response needs to be done in such
condition, because pavement road deterioration are always preceded by minor damage

The objective of this paper is to identify to what extend the capability of contractor and consultant
companies in Riau Province to compete in the global market. Statistical analyses methods were
utilized to test the correlation among the internal factors of these companies. Test results showed
that 14 internal factors influence and correlate each others for the case of the contractor companies,
and 15 factors for the consultant ones. The hierarchy correlations for each single internal factors

Tasikmadu is a sugar factory that is located in the district of Central Java Karangannyar. Central
Java such as the other sugar mills, the huge amaunt of waste and the need of recycle it again, to get
the economic value. In order to improve the society’s life from the sugar waste. One of the steps is
filter cake as additional sources to make a brick. Filter cake has physical massa such as soil and
researchers assume if filter cake can be an additional material for making brick. Filter brick is also
decreasing rice field soil for making brick. The researchers assumes if the rice fild soil always is
being taken to make a brick, it will effect on its fertility. The research divides two groups of bricks.
The first group is taking 40% filter cake as the additional massa in making brick and a second
group without the added filter cake material. The outcome of the research is: 1

Optimation of Urban Freight Transport Network Design By Genetic Algorithm

Freight movement in urban areas are often faced with competition use of road space with other road
users due to limited road space which increased congestion. A less precise selection of freight path
between origin destination pairs of freight trip resulted in an increase in cost of goods transport.
Both freight operators and road freight transport users have the same goal, which is to minimize
their total transportation cost. This research will be conducted an investigation of roads that can be
passed with a minimum transport cost by freight for all of pairs of origin destination of goods
involved in the road transport network system in such away that could be forming the design of
optimum freight network. The optimization goal is to maximize the difference in total cost of freight
transportation network system between the existing condition with the condition after optimization.
Mathematical models are also included to represent the behavior of the road user traffic. All of
optimization process is done in two phases of activity, which is known as the bi-level programming,
i.e. the lower and upper level. Lower level contains about the behavior traveling of road users type
which showed in traffic assignment process. The solution technique used on this level is user
equilibrium assignmnet with diagonalization. Whereas the upper level includes the formulation of
the objective function and solution technique for the optimization. The solution technique used is the
GA-I, that is the genetic algorithm with additional operators. The research result is a method of
urban freight transport network optimization with GA-I which is significantly robust and providing
an optimum solution in a short time on a hypothetical network.
