PENDAMPINGAN KEGIATAN PERANCANGAN MASJID ASYSYIFA DUSUN SEMAWUT, DESA BALONGBENDO, KRIAN, SIDOARJO, JAWA TIMUR

Abstract

Implementation of mosque development should take into account of the community roles to identify the needs of worship facilities, as well as architect to create design which is good and comfortable. Problems occurred in the planning design of Masjid Asy-Syifa are generally happened in the mosque design, such as dividing praying rooms for men and women, their circulation, air flows, façade and exterior design. Besides technical problems which need attention because the design process will involve community and be planned gradually. Roof becomes an important aspect to be considered to create comfort in the building. Dome roof shape is the community’s choice. Dome roof in the tropics need special attention on the providing openings on the roof area. They are used for air circulation in the main room (praying area) especially in the peak time of praying when it is full of people. The planning of entering access both for men and women, as well as the praying rooms are made separately to avoid crossing between them. Ramps as alternative accesses for disability persons are planned to help them on moving. The outdoor is planned to have corridors surrounding green area to protect people from sun exposure and rainfalls.
