dc.description.abstractPermintaan penggunaan material RAP (reclaimed asphalt pavement) yang distabilisasi dengan foamed bitumen (FB) dengan pengolahan secara dingin (cold-mix) semakin tinggi seiring dengan perkembangan isu lingkungan dalam industri perkerasan jalan. Namun demikian, sesungguhnya kinerja engineering material cold-mix ini belum memuaskan terutama bila dibandingkan dengan material hot-mix. Paper ini menyuguhkan evaluasi kritis mengenai kinerja engineering material RAP- FB berdasarkan laporan-laporan proyek di lapangan dan hasil-hasil penyelidikan di laboratorium. Hasil evaluasi ini ditujukan untuk memberi masukan dan pedoman kepada pihak pengguna dalam menerapkan teknologi FB. Material RAP- FB menunjukkan kinerja engineering yang baik bila didisain secara tepat. Aspek yang harus diperhatikan adalah gradasi agregat dan distribusi binder. Namun bila kedua aspek ini tidak diperhatikan, kinerja engineering campuran FB bisa menjadi sangat buruk. Penggunaan material RAP- FB juga menunjukkan kinerja lingkungan yang sangat positif. Teknologi ini mengurangi eksploitasi sumber alam, penggunaan energi bahan bakar, emisi gas rumah kaca dan limbah industri.en_US
