Pendidikan Yang Humanis Melalui Pembelajaran Tematik
Abstract
Researches and national statistic data on low-grade learning outcomes indicates that
there is a serious problem on Education in Indonesia. Based on the currently data and
researches, we need to change or reform the approach used in teaching low-grade
students in primary school and the thematic learning is one of the alternative solution to
bridge the problem. Thematic learning is learning that uses the theme of linking several
subjects in order to provide meaningful experiences to the students. Thematic learning
more emphasis on student involvement actively in the learning process, so that students
can gain experience. Thematic learning which is done comprehensively can accomodate
the needs for cognition and character of low-grade primary school students. Therefore,
as a learning approach, thematic learning is a humanistic education, indeed.
