dc.description.abstractPenelitian ini menguji hubungan antara kepatutan sosial dengan jarak dari intensitas individual untuk memalsukan respon mereka pada pengukuran kepribadian dalam konteks seleksi kerja. Bias kepatutan sosial didefinisikan sebagai kecenderungan seseorang untuk memberikan tanggapan pada suatu sikap tertentu yang akan dilihat baik oleh orang lain. 90 partisipan mengikuti kuasi eksperimen dengan desain within-subject yang dibagi menjadi dua perlakuan. Perlakuan pertama, partisipan diminta untuk melengkapi lima skala faktor kepribadian dengan jujur (kondisi netral) dan dalam perlakuan kedua, partisipan diminta melengkapi jawaban seakan mereka merupakan pelamar yang mengikuti seleksi karyawan (kondisi motivasional). Intensitas tiruan diukur dengan perbedaan diantara dua kondisi. Hasil temuannya adalah (a) Pengukuran kepribadian menggunakan teknik self-reported mudah untuk ditipu ketika diterapkan dalam seleksi kerja. (b) Terdapat perbedaan individual pada jumlah tipuan. (c) Kepatutan sosial dapat menjelaskan perbedaan individual ini, dengan ukuran dampak antara 2% sampai 20%. Penelitian ini menyarankan bahwa penggunaan instrumen untuk mengukur kepribadian harus dimodifikasi sebelum digunakan dalam proses seleksi dengan mematuhi kandungan dari indikator-indikator dan dampaknya pada kepatutan sosial.en_US
