dc.description.abstract | The herbal insecticides are easier to degrade, and safe for human and animals. Lempuyang Wangi
(Zingiber aromaticum Val.) contains saponin, tanin and flavonoid that can be used as insecticide of larvae.
The aim of this research was to know the effectiveness of Lempuyang Wangi extract to kill Aedes aegypti
instars III larvae. The research was an experimental with posttest only in control group design. The subjects
were divided into two groups, which were control group and treatment group. Each group used 25
larvae and each treatment was replicated four times. The total samples were 700 larvae. The result of this
research was in 0% concentration (control) of Lempuyang Wangi extract could kill 0 larvae (0%); 0,2%
concentration could kill 10,75 (11) larvae (43%); 0,4% concentration could kill 12,25 (13) larvae (49%);
0,6% concentration could kill 15,75 (16) larvae (63%); 0,8% concentration could kill 18,75 (19) larvae
(75%); 1,0% concentration could kill 23,75 (24) larvae (95%) and 1,2% concentration could kill 25 larvae
(100%). Based on the result of the Kruskall Wallis test, p = 0,000 dŠ á = 0,01. It could be concluded that
there was a very significant influence on addition of Lempuyang Wangi extract to kill Aedes aegypti larvae. | en_US |
