The aim of research is design of low speed permanent magnet generator of small-scale, it is properly used
for wind energy in Indonesia because wind velocity in Indonesia generally including low speed.
The method of research is design of rotor with permanent magnets. It is ten poles. The design of stator is
a salient pole type, diameter of stator windings is 1 mm and each salient pole 63 times. The permanent
magnet generators are tested lab-scale, it connected with DC motor that is used as prime mover. At the
time of the experiment generator is loaded 70 watt.
The result of research give information that when the speed of rotation of generator have 500 rpm and
generator is loaded 70 watt, it is capable of producing DC Voltage 11,6 Volt but when the load is changed
to 100 watt that is stop or black out system.
