dc.description.abstractDevelopment is a process which increasing of skills in a structure and function that correlated with change of quality and quantity. Cognitive development is a process to inflate the soul (mental-intellectual) to be a ripness and mature. Cognitive development is influenced by stimulations and nutrient in prenatal-postnatal period. Child period in term of golden period is a chance to develop cognitive function caused of in this time the brain inflate rapidly so need an optimum nutrient. Mother hold an important function in cognitive development of children, because of her function as an actor in the household likely manage food consumption, interaction, and stimulation of children. Good maternal knowledge of nutrition will influence food types, manning, variations, and presenting children nutritions, so child cognitive development is getting better too. This research was conducted to know the relationship between maternal knowledge of nutrition and the level of cognitive development child age 24 – 59 months.This Research used analytic survey models with cross sectional approximations where was done in Kartasura Regency Of Sukoharjo in May 2010. Data was got from mother as respondends with questions and result of cognitive test for children with Standford-Binet models. This research used 33 kids, and then was managed with chi square analysis models and SPSS 16.Statistic result shows that p = 0,014, it mean significant because p < 0,05 in the level 0f 5%. Bivariat analysis get coeficienct of contigency (CC) = 0,525. This research concludes that it has a relationship between maternal knowledge of nutrition and the level of cognitive development child age 24 – 59 months.en_US
