The greater number of elderly people in Indonesia show that there is an increase of people’s life expectancy in Indonesia. Elderly people experience structural and functional changes in their biological structures. Functional status is part of health status, and it shows capability to do daily activi- ties. This concept is integrated in three main domains, namely, biological, psychological (cognitive and affective) and social functions. Physical activities have correlation with cognitive function. The aim of this research was to know the correlation between movement disturbance and cognitive function of elderly women. Design of this research was survey/observational study with cross-sectional approach. Respondents of this research were 36 women of 60-74 years-old who live in Panti Wredha Aisiyah and Panti Wredha Dharma Bakti Surakarta. The movement disturbance was measured using questionnaire and Katz Index. Cognitive functions of the respondents are examined using Mini Mental Status. Statistical analysis of Product Moment and chi-square were used to analize data. Result of this research indicated that there was correlation between age and movement disturbance and there was not any correlation between age and cognitive disturbance. Statistical test of chi-square showed that contribution of movement disturbance on cognitive function was 65%.
