HUBUNGAN TINGKAT KEMAMPUAN ACTIVITY of DAILY LIVING (ADL) DENGAN PERUBAHAN KADAR GULA DARAH PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE II DI WILAYAH PUSKESMAS MASARAN
Abstract
Diabetes Millitus is known as a desease which is caused by disturbance in metabolist system
of carbohidrate, fat and protein in the body. This desease may be preventable, such as by change of
diet, reducing diet which contains protein, fat, sugar and salt, regular physical activity and blood glucose
level check-up. Fat Diabetes Millitus patients can control their blood glucose level by maintaining
their
diet and exercising regularly.The
purpose of this research was to know the correlation between the
independence
in Activities
of Daily Living (ADL) and blood glucose level in Diabetes Millitus Type
II
patients
at Primary Health Services of Masaran. The research method used was descriptive analytic
with
cross-sectional approach. The research respondents were 29 patients. The data were analyzed by
Rank
Spearman test. Research was conducted from April until May 2010. The instruments used were
checklist
sheets
of KATZ
ADL
index and glukotest. The result showed that there was a correlation
between
the independence in Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and blood glucose level (r
= -0,566 and pvalue-
= 0,001).
