Traditional sustenance are food and beverage that are sold or offered by the pedestrian along the street
or in public place which instantly eaten and consumed without any further cook. Consumption of unhealthy
sustenance can cause a degradation of nutrition rank as well as the increase of disease rate to
elementary
students. The aim of the research was to understand and analyze the correlation between
consumption
pattern of traditional sustenance and nutrition rank of elementary students in Kartasura
Region.
The research was an observational study by using cross sectional approach. The subjects of
the
research were fourth-grade elementary students. The pattern of sustenance consumption was derived
from tree times of 24-hour food recall. Data of morbidity was obtained by doing four times questionnaire-based
interview in one month. The nutritional status data were obtained by measuring BMI of
elementary
students. Based on the result of statistic test, there was not any relationship between
consumption
pattern of traditional sustenance and morbidity and nutritional status of elementary students
in Kartasura Region.
