dc.description.abstractSecara empiris daun Kemangi (Ocimum sanctum L.) dan daun Dewa (Gynura pseudochina (L) D.C) digunakan untuk menurunkan demam. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk membuktikan secara ilmiah efek tersebut dan membandingkan kekuatan kedua tanaman tersebut. Jenis penelitian merupakan kuasi eksperimental dengan rancangan acak lengkap pola searah. Sebanyak empat puluh ekor mencit jantan galur Swiss dibagi dalam 8 kelompok. Setiap kelompok terdiri dari 5 mencit. Semua mencit diinjeksi tetanus toksoid dosis 0,3 ml/23,67 gBB ip sebagai penginduksi demam. Enam puluh menit kemudian diberi perlakuan sesuai kelompoknya. Kelompok I diberi WFI 0,5 mL/20g mencit. Kelompok II diberi parasetamol dosis 65 mg/kgbb. Kelompok III,IV dan V diberi infusa daun kemangi dosis berturut-turut 1,25; 2,5 dan 10 g/kgbb. Kelompok VI, VII dan VIII diberi infusa daun dewa dosis berturut-turut 1; 2 dan 4 g/kgbb. Pengukuran suhu dilakukan tiap 30 menit sampai menit 210. Dihitung selisih penurunan suhu dan persen daya antipiretiknya. Data dianalisis dengan analisis varian satu jalan dilanjutkan dengan Tuckey HSD dengan taraf kepercayaan 95%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Infusa daun kemangi (Ocimum sanctum L.) dosis 5 g/kgbb, daun Dewa (Gynura pseudochina (L) D.C) dosis 1; 2 dan 4g/kgbb mempunyai daya antipiretik yang sebanding dengan parasetamol dosis 65 mg/kgbb. Potensi antipiretik daun Dewa (Gynura pseudochina(L) D.C)) lebih besar daripada Kemangi (Ocimum santum L.)en_US
