Machinist is a profession that associated with high noise situation. Locomotive engine is a machine that has very high level of noise. Long-term exposure of noise and working period can be the risk of hearing loss in machinist. The aim of this study was to explain the correlation between working period, long-term exposure, and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and hearing loss on ma- chinist crew in Solo Balapan Surakarta. The study was cross-sectional observational approach. Respon- dents of this research were 27 machinists. Data were collected through questionnaires, measurements of intensity of noise on locomotive and hearing examination (audiometric). Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate Spearman rank test, and multivariate multiple linear regression. Result of this study showed that there was correlation between long-term of exposure of noise (p=0,027) and working period (p=0,000) and hearing loss on machinist crew in Solo Balapan Surakarta. Multivariat analysis showed that working period was dominant factor that associated with hearing loss of machinist at Solo Balapan Surakarta.
