The prevalence of caries in Indonesia reached 90,05 % and was higher compared to other developing countries. In Central Java, the prevalence of dental caries expanded in the range of 60 to 80
% of population. The aim of this study was to know the relationship between level of knowledge and
behavior of parents in the frequency of bottle-feeding, length of each bottle-feeding, the addition of sugar in milk, level of oral hygiene and the genesis of dental caries in preschool students of Intan Aisyiyah, Makam Haji, Kartasura, Sukoharjo. This research was a quantitative research with cross- sectional approach. The respondents of the research were 59 preschool students. Sampling technique used was consecutive sampling. Statistic test used was Chi Square test. The result showed that there was a relationship between the level of mothers’ knowledge ( p = 0,001, PR = 3,313; CI 95 % = 1,948
- 5,636 ), the frequency of sugar addition (p = 0,061, PR = 1,823; CI 95 % = 1,048 - 3,171 ), the length of each bottle-feeding ( p = 0,021, PR = 2,251; CI 95 % = 1,129 - 4,490 ),the level of oral hygiene ( p =
0,001, PR = 14,185; CI 95 % = 3,855 - 56,926 ) and the genesis of dental caries. Overall, there was not any correlation between the frequency of bottle-feeding ( p = 0,420, PR = 1,354; CI 95 % = 0,783 -
2,342 ) and the genesis of dental caries.
