Abstract

Causes of mental disorder recurrence of violent behavior is one of the family does not know how to deal with the behavior of mentally ill clients at home. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of knowledge of the family in caring for clients with recurrent violent behavior at the Emergency Hospital Prof . Dr. HB. Sa'anin Padang. This experiment design is descriptive analytical with crosh sectional approach. Sample were 60 , with sampling technique is accidental sampling. This recearches do conducting in 05 August – 05 September 2012, data analyzed with using univariat and bivariat . The results of the study found more than half (66.7%) had low knowledge, (61.7%) who experienced a relapse. with p value = 0.013. It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between knowledge of the family in caring for the relepse of violent behavior .
