Hubungan Tingkat Pengetahuan Ibu tentang Hygiene Makanan dengan Kejadian Diare pada Balita di Puskesmas Lubuk Buaya Padang Tahun 2012
Abstract
Diarrhea constitute condition the expenditure of abnormal feces or unusual, characterized by increased
keenceran volume, and frequency of more than 3 times a day in children and infants more than 4 times a day
with or without mucus blood. Maternal knowledge in maintaining the cleanliness and food processing methods
influence the incidence of diarrhea. The purpose of this study to determine whether there is a relationship
between the mother's knowledge of food hygiene with the incidence of diarrhea in infants. This study used the
descriptive analytical method, data processing with a cross-sectional study conducted at the health center of
Padang Lubuk Buaya in March-August 2012 with 32 samples with accidental sampling technique. Data
collection tools used were questionnaires and guided interviews. Data was analized by editing, coding,
processing, cleaning. Univariate data analysis with frekuension distribution and bivariate analysis with the chi-
square test. The results obtained 68.75% of respondents who have knowledge with acute diarrhea and chronic
diarrhea 43,75% as much as 56.25%. Stetistik test showed pvalue < α significant relationship between
knowledge of food hygiene with the incidence of diarrhea in young children.Suggested to the health center,
especially holders through the health center leaders to become more active in doing outreach on diarrhea and
causes diarrhea, facilitating families in gaining knowledge about food hygiene by providing a specialized
consulting and counseling group for women who have children to broaden the mother in the treatment of health
problems.
