Problem of child health and nutritional status of children in developing countries likeIndonesia are predominantly low social economic status, is a separate issue that requiresmore attention to handling. The nutritional status will affect the growth and development ofchildren. Achievement of good nutrition should be considered given the childrens future is asociety that determines the level of progress and prosperity of a nation. Changes in children can be assessed by the growth variables weight and height by age. The nutritional status isrelated to the family economy, social conditions, environment, health behaviors that willultimately affect growth. The purpose of this research was to determine the correlation between the social economic status of family with the nutritional status of children inelmentary school Godog 1 Polokarto, Sukoharjo. The type of this research is cross sectional.The subject of this research were students in Grade 1 to Grade 5 elmentary school Godog 1 Polokarto, Sukoharjo. The technique of taking sample is using proportional stratified randomsampling. The number of respondents as much as 129 students. Based on the result of the correlation test using Chi-Square (²) known that value ²account > ²tabel with value ρ <0,05 so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So we can say that there was a significantcorrelation between social economic status of families with the nutritional status of children inelmentary school Godog 1 Polokarto, Sukoharjo. Observed by maternal education, maternalemployment and family income there is also a significant correlation between maternaleducation, maternal employment and family income with nutritional status of children. So wecan conclude that there is a significant corellation between social economic status of families with nutritional status of children in elementary school Godog 1 Polokarto, Sukoharjo.
