Pengaruh Pendidikan Kesehatan tentang Mencuci Tangan terhadap Tingkat Pengetahuan dan Perilaku Mencuci Tangan Siswa SDN 01 Gonilan

The wrong behavior of hand-washing is many found on children, therefore they need the increase of their knowledge about the importance of hand-washing which can be implemented in the daily life. At school, children are not only studying, but there are many other activities which are possible to be done by the children at school like playing, touching each other or trading things with their schoolmates. Germs which presents on the writing tools, calculator, books and other things will move easily from one student’s hand to another. The purpose of this research was to understand the effect of health education about handwashing towards knowledge level and hand-washing behavior of SDN 01 Gonilan students. The research method was quasi experiment with the used design was pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample was 32 respondents using random sampling method. The used data collecting technique was questionnaire and observation. The collected data was analyzed using paired t-test and independent t-test. From the result of paired t-test analysis on the experiment group it was obtained that the value of ρ = 0.000 and behavior ρ = 0.000, so that it can be concluded that there is an effect of health education towards hand-washing behavior on the SDN 01 Gonilan students. Whereas from the comparison result between the experiment group and the control group the value of ρ = 0.001 for knowledge and ρ = 0.039 for behavior was obtained. So that it can be concluded that there is a difference of students’ knowledge regarding hand-washing between the experiment group and the control group.
