    HUBUNGAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN IBU TENTANG INFEKSI SALURAN PERNAFASAN AKUT (ISPA) DENGAN PERILAKU PENCEGAHAN PADA BALITA DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS TIRTO II KABUPATEN PEKALONGAN

    Abstract
    Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) is one of major causes of morbidity in infants in developing countries, including in Indonesia. High cases of respiratory infection in under-five years children can be affected by the environmental factors, socioeconomic, and mother’s knowledge regarding Acute Respiratory Infections. A good knowledge of mother is expected to influence behavior of preventing of respiratory infection in under-five years children. The objective of the research knows the relationship of mother’s knowledge about acute respiratory infections (ARI) with the Preventing Behavior of under-five years children in Tirto Health Public Center II of Pekalongan. This reasearch is descriptive correlative, with Cross Sectional approach. The samples of the research are the mothers who have under-five years children (1-5 years) in Tirto Health Public Center II of Pekalongan as much as 72 persons and the sample taking uses proportional random sampling. Technique of collecting data uses quetionaire and Analyzing the data uses Chi Square test. The results of the study show 24 respondents (33.3%) who have high knowledge about ARI, 27 respondents (37.5%) have moderate knowledge and 21 respondents (29.2%) have poor knowledge. Ten respondents (21.7%) have good preventive behavior of ARI, 15 respondents (32.6%) have medium preventive behavior, and 21 respondents (45.7%) have less behavior of ARI. Hypothesis test results show 2 = 17.688 p= 0.001. It can be concluded that there is relationship between mother’s knowledge of acute respiratory infections (ARI) with preventing behavior of under- five years children in Tirto Public Health Center II of Pekalongan.
