Korban Kekerasan Terhadap Perempuan Dan Anak Di Wilayah Surakarta

Abstract

Abuse and violance in societies usually occur because of gender bias. Often, women and children are the victims of physical, psychic and economic abuse and violance. Economic issue, ignorance about where to report and lack of education about their rights are the urgent matters related to gender-based violance and abuse to women and children. These matters are quite crucial because the ignorances result unwillingness of some victims to report, even when their life is in danger. Another reason behind their unwillingness is their fear of huge costs and a follow-through violance after the report.Implementation method and outcome of the community outreach are: a). Counseling/educating national law against violence in the home through ‘pengajian’ or meetings at Aisyiyah sub-districts; b). Assistance and home visit to female victims of domestic violance; c). Giving psychological test to female victims of violence in the home to both figure out their mental state and use the result as supporting evidence in the court; and d) Training of products marketing and finding capital and investor through UKM (Small and Medium Enterprise). Based on the result and discussion, conclusions are made that the assistance to female and child victims of domestic violence in Surakarta could proceed well and successful.
