Concrete is often used in civic engineering projects. Conrete that has the ability to restrain weight become the choice in determining the construction structure that will be used. The composition of concrete that consist of water, sand, gravel and Portland Cement makes concrete have various com-pressive strength. The use of sand that comes from different place makes different compressive strength too. To com-pare the compressive strength between concretes that sand come from different places, a research is carried out using Klawing Sand and Merapi Sand. The result of the research shows that the use of Merapi Sand gives more compressive strength than that of Klawing Sand. The ratio of compressive strength that can be obtained between concrete that using Merapi Sand and Klawing Sand is 1,27 : 1. This ratio shows that the use of Merapi Sand in concrete mixture is one of methods that can be used to ensure the compliance of the required compressive strength, moreover a mix design alternative is needed so that the compressive strength is fulfilled.en_US
