    Abstract
    Kerinci’s society is the alliance of tradition societies lived in Kerinci Regency, which has an area about 380.850 Ha and from total of area about 191.822 Ha of Seblat National Park. So, 50.37% from regency area was claimed by government to be TNKS area, about 189.027,70 Ha or 49.63% used as living area and cultivating area. The purposes of this research are (1) to know forest management from historical perspective in Kerinci Regency (2) to know a forest management from politic law perspective in Kerici regency (3) to know a model of forest management from local wisdom in Kerinci regency. Laws of forestry had been initiated since Holland era. Ownership and management forest was regulated by specialist that had education from Hindia Belanda era. While in Japanese era, Laws Development just imagine in text books of forestry science development of laws. In old order era, forestry management was considered as government right. There is no law tradition society that against for their right causes of power new era order regime. Government used “ulayat” or community land with low payment and without compensation free. In reformation era, the laws prepared to solve land disputed area and forest disputed between tradition laws of society among company and government. Tradition rules had been known by society since their ancestor before Holland aggression. A forest resource should be used optimally for everlasting society benefit, and also should respect to right of tradition society. A model of central government forest management and other government in this section must be facilitated by credible NGO or LSM in forestry to push society as subject forest management used training skills, education, and other to hone and increase society knowledge in forest management
