    Abstract
    The aim of this study is to formulate a model village government role through the village barns in stock management (reserves) of food in the area of research; and formulate and develop a model revitalizing the function and role of rural barns (LPD) so as to ensure the enforcement of food sovereignty (production, availability and access to food) village level in the study area. Based on these objectives specific targets to be achieved in this study is the existence LPD redesign, so it can be a double play and strategically as a buffer (buffer stock) and or managers of food reserves in order to provide ease of access to food to the poor and provide ease of access capital for farm households. This research is descriptive, which describe or define engagement and strategic role of village government in managing food security in an effort to uphold food sovereignty at the village level. The subjects were the government and the people (farmers) in the study area. The data required to achieve the objectives of this study are primary data and secondary data obtained by the method of observation, focus group discussions, in-depth interviews, and a search of the village administration documentation. The results of a two year study in-focus-right to formulate a model of revitalization of the function and role of the food basket of the village through the process of data analysis with critical analytical methods and interactive. Based on observations in the field and the focus group discussions (FGD), the results showed that the function and role of rural barns (LPD) existing conventional in poor villages are not significant in contributing to improving household food security rumaah or with other words, LPD has the performance and productivity is very low, so that does not help farmers to improve their welfare. Therefore LPD in poor villages need to be expanded functions and roles, as recommended in the form of a model study "Revitalization of Function and Role Model Food Barn Village"
