dc.description.abstractInfeksi merupakan masalah kesehatan yang sering dialami. Agen penyebab infeksi antaralain bakteri baik Gram positif maupun Gram negatif. Penelitian terdahulu membuktikan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun pacar air (Impatiens balsamina L.) memiliki aktivitas antibakteri spektrum luas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etanol daun pacar air terhadap Streptococcus pyogenes dan Shigella sonnei serta mengetahui senyawa yangber tanggungjawab terhadap aktivitas antibakteri dengan metode bioautografi. Daun pacar air dimaserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 70%. Uji aktivitas menggunakan metode difusi agar. Ekstrak dibuat seri konsentrasi 10000 µg, 5000 µg, 2500 µg, dan 1250 µg dengan kontrol positif kloramfenikol dan kontrol negatif DMSO. Deteksi kandungan senyawa pada ekstrak dilakukan dengan metode Kromatografi Lapis Tipis (KLT) menggunakan fase diam silika gel GF254nm dan fase gerak etil-asetat : kloroform (7:3) v/v kemudian dilakukan bioautografi untuk mendeteksi senyawa aktif antibakteri. Hasil uji menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun pacar air mempunyai aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Streptococcus pyogenes dan Shigella sonnei yang ditunjukkan dengan zona jernih disekitar sumuran. Hasil identifikasi senyawa dalam ekstrak menunjukkan adanya senyawa golongan steroid, antron, antrakuinon, kumarin, fenol dan, flavonoid. Hasil uji bioutografi ekstrak etanol daun pacar air dengan konsentrasi tidak menunjukkan adanya senyawa yang bertanggungjawab sebagai antibakteri terhadap bakteri Streptococcus pyogenes dan Shigella sonnei.in_ID
