dc.description.abstract | Abstract: This research aims at knowing: (1) headmasters democratic leadership toward school success,
(2) teachers professional competence toward School Success, and (3) both headmasters democratic
leadership and teachers professional competence toward School Success. The subjects of the research
were 130 teachers taken from the total population of 197 Muhammadiyah junior high school in
Surakarta.The samples were taken by means of the proportional random sampling technique.All the
data were collected by means of questioners and the collected data were analized using the multi linier
regression analysis technique with the help of the SPSS 10. The result of the research shows that firstly
there is a significant contribution of democratic headmasters leadership toward School Success. This
can be seen from the finding that t0 4.963 is higher than the t table 1.655. Secondly, there is a significant
contribution of Teachers Professional Competence toward School Success, and this can be seen from the
finding that the t0 6.006 is higher than the t table 1.655. Thirdly, there is a significant contribution of both
democratic headmasters leadership and teachers professional competence toward school success, and
this can be seen from the finding that the f0 48.675 is higher than the table f table 3.05. In addition, the
contribution of variable democratic headmasters leadership to school success is 11 % and the contribution
of teachers professional competence to school success is 32.4 %. This research comes to the conclusion
that the democratic style of headmasters leadership and teacher professional competence give significant
contribution toward school success.This finding implies that the more democratic the style of the leadership
of the headmaster of a school is and the better the professional competence of the teacher is, the more
successful the school is.Therefore, this study suggests that in order to create a success in a school the
headmaster of the school should improve their democratic leadership and the teacher o the school
should improve their professional competence. | en_US |
