Abstract
In the world of Islam, the habits of mind molded by centuries long
interconnectedness between the two (theology and law) disciplines make
their presence known in a very different way. The separatness of the law from theology
has been correlative with the alienness of the law from the culture, and the enterprise
of exploring methodological or procedural affinities between law and theology in
order to achieve a better understanding of two otherwise separate disciplines makes
no sense.
