Students of the third semester English Education had different understanding and abilities because they came from different regions, school, specialization diverse, and low motivation in learning to write. 75% students had low understanding to write using standards grammar. Besides, they tended to have less vocabularies in writing based on their imagination. So, their grade of writing had not reached the standard of minimal grade. On the other hand, the lecturer taught conventionally without using innovations based on the students‟ ability. The main objective of this study was to analyze the interests and perceptions of students towards learning paragraph based writing course using circle the sage based on critical thinking. The method used by the researchers was descriptive analysis method. The data collection technique used interests and perceptions of students‟ questionnaire which discussed about learning courses paragraph based writing using circle the sage based on critical thinking. The data analysis used qualitative descriptive to get the successful learning courses of paragraph based writing using circle the sage based on critical thinking. The research result got improvement on students „interest and perceptions of learning to write a paragraph using circle the sage method based on critical thinking. It means that the students „learning of writing paragraph had applicable and attractive writing.
