dc.description.abstractThe use of conduit in column is useful aesthetically as a place for water pipe or electrical pipe. The new code of concrete in Indonesia (SNI 03-2847-2002) gives a limitation that maximum conduit area is 4% towards the column crosssection area. This research aims at analyzing towards a conduit area in column cross-section that over the limit permitted, in its strength. The study was done by analyze the strength of three columns with the dimension of 200 x 200 mm2 and the conduit area are 0%, 4%, and 7% of the column cross-section area from the research of Sabariman (2004). The material uses for this research are, concrete compressive strength is 26 MPa and steel yield tension is 327 MPa. Analyzing of column strength use a computer software program name PCA COL ver 2.3. The result of the analyze shows that, 4% conduit area in column cross-section didn’t reduce the column strength but the 7% conduit area in column cross-section would be reduce the column moment strength until 10,52% when the column in compression failure condition.en_US
