    Abstract
The purpose of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) integration in industrial process is to increase productivity and to improve product quality. These are can be achieved by automated production process using PLC. PLC provides innovative solutions in the direction of industrial automation. These activities include delicate electronics component manufacturing, glass manufacturing, machine parts, quality textile production, metal product finishing, and many others. This paper presents a research on design and implementation of PLC based visual inspection for Modular Automation Production System (MAPS) application. A production simulation and visual inspection process was attempted in the Robotics System Laboratory of Industrial Computing Department, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. The result shows the PLC based visual inspection system is accurate to determine unacceptable products (no cap or misplace) on the production speed at 78 bottle per minute (bpm)
