Perbedaan Angka Kejadian Hipertensi antara Pria dan Wanita Penderita Diabetes Mellitus Berusia ≥ 45 Tahun
Abstract
Hyperglycemia implicated in etiology and clinical pathway of three mayor diseases: diabetes mellitus, hypertension and coronary heart disease. Hypertension is approximately twice as frequent in patients with diabetes compared with patients without the disease. Over the age of 45 is a predilection time for hypertension to rise. While the increase of age, there is a tendency for estrogen to decrease on women. It contributes to reduced stimulation of endothelial cell NO production and increased risk of cardiovascular disease. The aim of this research is to know the proportion of hypertension between men and women in diabetic aged ≥ 45 year. This study was analytic survey with cross sectional approach. The numbers of sample were 152 diabetic patients consisted of 76 men and 76 women. We measured blood pressure directly and listed the data from medical records in RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta. For significancy, the data was analyzed by chi square with α value = 0,05.Hypertension was present in 58 women (38,16%) and 54 men (35,53%). From the chi square statistic analysis, we got X2 = 0,543, the probability (p) = 0,461 (not significant). There is no difference of hypertension proportion between men and women in diabetic aged ≥ 45 year.
