Klewer market is one of the traditional markets in Surakarta which
is located at the southern part of the Great Mosque of Surakarta and
the northern part of Surakarta Palace. At the beginning, every store in
Klewer sells garment and textile as its main product to trade, but as the
time pass by, the garment and textile stores turn out into jewelry stores
and banks. Those jewelry, stores and bank undoubtedly need more
electrical power than those of garment and textile stores. This condition
increases the consumption of electrical power in Klewer and influences
the availability of electrical supply provided by State Electrical Power
(PLN). It is no longer able to supply sufficient power for all stores in
Klewer because its power capacity for the market is limited. Furthermore
many merchandisers worry about their electrical supply which helps them
to brighten their stores. Besides these conditions also create some
detriment for PLN. The bad plan of electrical installation causes the
damage of electrical tools.
The method used to solve this case is field survey, plan of electrical
installation by considering the electrical load, the position of lamps which
maximize the comfort of users.
