PEMANFAATAN PETA DAN FOTO DALAM PENDIDIKAN GEOGRAFI DI SMP 3 TEPUS GUNUNG KIDUL DAERAH ISTIMEWA YOGYAKATA
Abstract
The public service which is done in SMP Negeri 3 Tepus Gunung
Kidul, special district of Yogyakarta aims at enhancing the teaching
learning process of geography subject based on district competence. This
public service uses interactive descriptive method by using topography
map, geology map, administration map, landsat and the photos of school
environment. The equipments used in this activity are computer, LCD and
stationery supplies. The results of teaching learning process by using map
media, landsat, and the photos of school environment show that: 1)
students can explain the material of geograpgy consisting of: a) the
definition of earth surface form, b) the source of endogen energy that
change the earth surface form, c) exogen energy that changes the earth
surface form, d) district area potency, and e) the broken nature forms. 2)
Increasing students’ creativity and curiousity, so they are not sleepy, the
class activity is more interesting and interactive, and the lessson is not like
memorizing. Therefore, the competence standard and basic competence of
the megography material for elementary education can be achieved well.
