Independent Learning – Independent Campus (MBKM) is a program that prepares students to
have wider experience and skills so they are ready to enter the world of work. The process of
socializing this program is very much needed by every university because of the need for
various adaptation processes. The Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of
Indonesia organizes survey activities to measure the understanding of the academic community
(lecturers, students, and employees) in each university environment online. There were 10
lecturers who took part in this survey, while 387 students took part. The results of the survey
on lecturers and students in the Public Health Study Program, FIK UMS, showed that lecturers
and students already had a good understanding of MBKM. The experience of lecturers in
guiding field activities and the availability of guides from universities are sufficient. The
majority of students also have a positive perception of the benefits of MBKM for improving
students' skills and readiness in the world of work. Recommendations for universities are
socialization of various forms of MBKM activities and administrative regulations needs to be
improved, study programs are given flexibility in providing student recommendations to choose
forms of activities that are in accordance with graduate competencies and the credit conversion
process.
