Selection of a programming language for beginners is an important task because first programming language affects the programming style and technique of a programmer. This writing describes the observation of popular views that are obtained from the internet by searching using the following engines: Google, Yahoo, Live Search and Google Scholar. The first observation step is to list the figures of merits of a good first programming language. The final step is to score the views based on the respective authors' arguments and the type of publication. The observation suggests that people see C, Alice and Python as good programming languages for beginners.en_US
