Postoperative breast cancer therapy consists of: radiation, chemoradiation and hormonal manipulation. Radiation is therapy to eliminate cancer cells with ionizing rays. Chemoradiation is radiation and chemoradiation therapy are used together to reduce the each limitations of radiation and chemotherapy. The success of postoperative breast cancer therapy are influenced by various factors, such as age, stage of cancer, nutrition, post-surgical care and patient adherence to therapy. This study aimed to determine differences in chemoradiation and radiation therapy on the post operative breast cancer therapy. The study was observational analytic with cross sectional approach. Population of this study was all of medical records with breast cancer diagnosis who received radiation and chemoradiation therapy that is at Radiology Department of Dr. Moewardi hospital in April 2004. Samples were taken with a purposive sampling approach. Data were analyzed using chi square test and the statistical power of association between variables was tested by the formula Odds Ratio (OR) and Confidence Interval (CI). The result showed 49 samples, 27 postoperative breast cancer patient with chemoradiation therapy and 22 patient with radiation therapy.Chi square analyze is resulted X2 = 14,95 > X2 1,99 = 6.635. The conclusion, there is significant differences between chemoradiation and radiation therapy on the recovery of post operative breast cancer. The conclusion is breast cancer post surgery with chemoradiation therapy have opportunity of recovery 15 times more than radiation therapy (OR = 15; IK99%=2,46 -91,38).en_US
