Sensitivitas Salmonella typhi terhadap Kloramfenikol dan Seftriakson di RSUD Dr. Soetomo Surabaya dan di RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang Tahun 2008-2009
Abstract
Typhoid fever is an endemic disease in Indonesia. The epidemiology of typhoid fever in East Java is increased.
Chloramphenicol is a drug of choice for typhoid fever. The second alternative medication is Ceftriaxone. The
ability of Salmonella typhi mutated frequently changing affect the success of first-line treatment in hospital,
accordingly it requires sensitivity observation. The purpose of this studys to determine the sensitivity of
Salmonella typhi on Chloramphenicol and Ceftriaxone in Dr. Soetomo Hospital Surabaya and Dr. Saiful Anwar
Hospital Malang 2008-2009. The research design uses observational descriptive. The samples were patients
suffering from typhoid fever treated by Chloramphenicol or Ceftriaxone, culture result and sensitivity test. The
result sensitivity of Salmonella typhi on Chloramphenicol in Dr. Soetomo Hospital Surabaya was sensitive
63,2%, intermediate 5,3%, resistant 31,6%. Sensitivity of Salmonella typhi on Chloramphenicol in Dr. Saiful
Anwar Hospital Malang was sensitive 23,1%, intermediate 0%, resistant 76,9%. Sensitivity of Salmonella typhi
on Ceftriaxone in Dr. Soetomo Hospital Surabaya was sensitive 31,6%, intermediate 0%, resistant 68,4%.
Sensitivity of Salmonella typhi on Ceftriaxone in Dr. Saiful Anwar Hospital Malang was sensitive 23,1%,
intermediate 23,1%, resistant 53,8%. The results showed Chloramphenicol remained sensitive for Salmonella
typhi in Dr. Soetomo Hospital Surabaya and resistant in Dr. Saiful Anwar Hospital Malang. Ceftriaxone was
resistant for Salmonella typhi in Dr. Soetomo Hospital Surabaya and Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang.
