| dc.description.abstract | Digital data management system more reliable than manually since it only needs small storage
area (data stored in the computer’s harddisk or another digital storage), data will not broken by
time, and only needs very short time to find data in database systems (just in minutes or perhaps
seconds). This system is very promising alternative way instead of manual system in the Office of
law and human rights of Pemerintah Kota Surakarta. The objective of this research is to develop
information system for data management so that increase efficiency in the office of law and
human rights of Pemerintah Kota surakarta. The new developed system is web-based which is
developed by using open source software i.e. PHP as scripting language, MySQL as database
server, and APACHE as web server. The program has been tesedt both in stand-alone system
and LAN. The result of the test shows that the program has complete properties and very stable
to handle a big-size data systems. For advaced research, it is needed to develop systems that
