Mango seed is often viewed as waste that has no economical value whereas in fact it contains substance that is potential to extract into bio-ethanol. The aim of this research is to investigate engine performance fuelled by the mixture of gasoline and ethanol extracted from mango seed. Mango seed was processed into ethanol and its maximum content of alcohol was analyzed. The engine performance test used gasoline 100%, gasoline 95% and ethanol extracted from mango seed 5% (B – 5 mango seed) and gasoline 95% and ethanol 5% that is available in market (B – 5 market). The test investigated torque, power and specific fuel consumption from each fuel mixture. The result shows that the highest torque and power was achieved in the use of gasoline and ethanol (market), B – 5 which are 94,8235 Nm and 29,4070 kW. The lowest specific fuel consumption (SFC) was reached in the use of gasoline and mango seed ethanol (B – 5 mango) that is 0,2923 kg/kW.hr with 2000 rpm.en_US
