This article challenges democracy, saying that it originated from the West. It cites ideas propagated by several ortodox Muslim thinkers who are mainly disagree with democracy. First, that democracy is basically Western bestseller-product offered to the Muslim world. Second, that it is a secular and worldly system that contradicts with the basic mores of Islam stated in Quran and Sunnah. This article urges that the perfect-system shall be the celebration of the bliss of Heaven. Third, that the absoulute authority is in the hand of people. It believes on the supremacy of God’s authority rather than people’s. It recommends furthermore that Muslim shall question democracy and establish a more Islamic model, without offering a systematic research-based Islamic thought being implemented in the Muslim world.en_US
