dc.description.abstract | Based on their intensity, aerobic dance is classified into low, moderate,
and hight. The various intensities differ in the source of energy for activity. Low
intensity aerobic dance mostly use fat oxidation, hight intensity aerobic dance
mostly use carbohydrate oxidation, while moderate intensity aerobic dance use
both fat and carbohydrate oxidation equally. Fat oxidation may cause decrease of
storage fats on the visceral and subcutaneous tissues. The aim of this study is to
investigate the difference effects between low and moderate intensity aerobic
dances on body fat percentage.
The subject of this study is 24 female members of Arobic and Fitness
Centre Fortuna, aged between 20-40 years. Body fat percentage was measured
indirectly according to the Brozek formula. The measurement we performed
before the exercise and 4 weeks of the exercise.
Design of this study is Quasi Experiment with Pre and Post test two group
design. The result of the analysis statistical parametric with Paired Sample T-test
shows that there is any effects of low and moderate intensity aerobic dance on
body fat percentage. Then analysis statistical with Independent Sample T-test
show no significant effect between low and moderate intensity aerobic dance on
body fat percentage, p>p value (0,606>0,05). From these results, it can be
concluded that low and moderate intesity of aerobic dance can decrease body fat
percentage. | en_US |
