HUBUNGAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN IBU TENTANG ASI EKSKLUSIF DENGAN PERILAKU PEMBERIAN ASI DI PUSKESMAS NGUTER
Abstract
Infant mortality rate due to the premature feeding in developing countries 64% higher
than breast-fed. While infant mortality rate of less than two months to 48% higher than
breast-fed infants. It shows that breastfeeding is very important for infant. The existence of
the wrong perception about breastfeeding a baby, will make a woman's attractiveness will
decrease, and the maternal knowledge about exclusive breasy feeding and the motivating
factor is also an indicator of health workers in the exclusive breast feeding. Based on the
result of preliminary studies which has been done by researcher in Public Health Care 2 of
Nguter at activity of Posyandu Balita, out of 25 mothers suckling, 20 mothers between it to
express not to know about benefit of exclusive breast feeding. The aims of this research was
to know the relation between maternal knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding with
breastfeeding behavior in the Public Health Care (PHC) of Nguter. This research method
was research Analytical Observational applies research Cross Sectional design. The
research sample are mothers with babies aged 0-6 mounth in the Celep at job regions PHC
of Nguter II Sukoharjo with a total of 32 people with sampling techniques to determine the
total sample. Techniques of data processing were using Kendall Tau analytical techniques.
The conclusion from this study was: (1) knowledge of mothers on exclusive breastfeeding in
PHC of Nguter Sukoharjo mostly in the good category, (2) maternal behavior in practice
exclusive breastfeeding in mothers breastfeeding in PHC of Nguter Sukoharjo in the
category of average and good enough, and (3) there was a significant relationship between
maternal knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding with feeding behavior in lactating mothers
in rural areas PHC of Nguter Celep Sukoharjo (p-value = 0.002).
