Effect of Road Pavement Damage on Maintenance Cost and Congestion Cost

Abstract

Pavement road deterioration caused a decline in level of service. The fall in the level of road service leads to an escalation of the transportation costs. The high cost of transportation due to pavement road deterioration is caused by an increase in vehicle operating costs and costs resulted from the loss of time, resulting in increases costs of congestion, pollution ,and accidents which finally provoke the enhancement of bussiness expenses. Quick and effective response needs to be done in such condition, because pavement road deterioration are always preceded by minor damage
