dc.description.abstractDevelopment of life skills in the production of organic fertilizer, especially vermicompost (former worms) will need to be implemented given the considerable demand for fertilizer in the region Purworejo as agricultural areas. So far, more fertilizer needs in supply by inorganic fertilizers produced by companies of State Owned Enterprises (SOEs). On the other hand, the amount of productive labor force in rural areas and Purworejo Binangun generally go up with population growt. From training and mentoring in the field of production techniques, especially vermicompost, its utilizing the potential of the local area and the potential of human resources in the area. Implementation of activities in the field of training and mentoring life skill vermicompost production based on entrepreneurship conducted in July 2011 - November 2011 which was attended by 15 participants who are of childbearing age and young adolescents from different family backgrounds. This training material contains material about the concept and development of integrated farming, vermicompost production engineering, engineering entrepreneurship and marketing techniques. This training is expected to provide greater knowledge to young people about vermicompost production techniques and provide motivation for them to open a business in the field of production of organic fertilizer which can add to the family income. Besides, this activity is expected to have a major contribution to the economic development community, especially for disadvantaged areas to further improve the standard of living and income for families so they can Support the family economically disadvantaged.en_US
