    Abstract
The study aims at describing the perception of the headmasters and policy makers about developing gender-equality-perspective models of teaching and learning material of Bahasa and Sastra Indonesia in junior high schools. The data-collecting methods are questionnaire, observation, and interview. The data-analyzing methods include quantitative and qualitative. The outcome of the study shows that the perception of the teachers and headmasters as the decision makers are mostly positive, implying that such kind of model is needed, innovative, suitable with the competency-based curriculum demand and government program, clear, simple, and easy to apply, and as a challenging model. The positive perception is also indicated by the agreement of the headmasters as well as the decision makers that the model is interesting and proper. The model may give ways of creating gender justice in the society
