dc.description.abstractKerten-Ngapeman street is a main road in Surakarta City. The area of Surakarta city is 44.06 km2, the population is 515.372 souls that encountered many problems. It causes problem on road parking.The road parking is such parking road on Kerten-Ngapeman Street. The problem of road parking when it is not matched with the parking arrangement, there will be congestion. The purpose overcome the problem of road parking, need for the study of problems parking on road. Object of study are to analyze the impact of road parking to traffic characteristics.This study is expected to be useful to planning, structuring and solution parking on road will come. The research method is descriptive analytic of finding the data directly in the field.The analysis included: the effect of parking to traffic at before and after parking on Kerten-Ngapeman Street ofSurakarta. The conclusions of research on Kerten-Ngapeman Street: the number of parking is 704 vehicles, the parking accumulation is 93 vehicle with parking capacity144 SRP, the turn overparking 5 vehicle/SRP, the loss of user traffic due to parking Rp. 3.761.000.-/day. Kerten-Ngapeman Street: the parking number is 948 vehicles, the parking accumulation is 122 vehicles with the parking capacity is 200 SRP, the turn over parking is 5 vehicle/SRP, the loss of user traffic due to parking on roads is Rp. 2.949.000, -/day.The loss incurred on road users in Kerten-Ngapeman Street is Rp. 6.710.00,-/day. The results of study showed the parking arrangements and transfer parking from main road to secondary road. Every store or activity in order to provide a dencent parking space.
